After checking out the morning market at Hakodate--the pictures of which I subsequently lost :(--we headed off for
Akita. This was mostly a stopover, although we did taste some of what is reputed to be the best
sake in the world.
People started to get tired of me taking their picture after awhile, but that didn't deter me. In this shot we are headed for the underground (and undersea) tunnel taking us away from Hokkaido and onto the main island, Honshu. Ultimately, the trip from Hakodate to Akita took 6 hours.
